I'm Jayné, a Scottish – well ScIrish – artist and designer based in Dunmore East, Co Waterford. I grew up in Kirk Yetholm, a tiny village nestled in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills in the Scottish Borders. I then came to the stunning fishing village of Dunmore East in the sunny South East of Ireland for three days back in 2002.
Like so many Scottish girls before me I met an Irishman in a bar and…. well I’m still here! After graduating with a degree in Visual Communications from Edinburgh College of Art, I have enjoyed an award-winning graphic design and publishing career spanning over three decades. Although, my first love has always been drawing, and Ireland has brought this love of mine back to life.
It all starts with a sketch...
...pencil on paper, slowly built up with fine ink lines, dots and crosshatching until it becomes a reminder of home, a favourite place, or a moment worth holding onto.
Art to gift, treasure and connect
Each drawing tells a story, capturing the places people hold close to their hearts.
Beautifully presented and ready to gift
No extra wrapping needed. Ideal for weddings, birthdays, house warmings or simply because.
Camera shots & drawings
I visit each place to sketch details and take photographs, then develop the finished drawing back in my studio.
Details & depth
Outlines and depth are created using archival pigment ink fine liners, then scanned at high resolution and digitally enhanced with transparent color layers.
The finished print
Prints are produced locally on FSC-certified archival paper, then I sign and number each one by hand.
